Also in loving memory of Arthur Edward Silvertop R.N. Commander of H.M.S. Defence lost in the Battle of Jutland. Erland Godfrey Hadow M.C. Captain 17th West Yorkshire Regt. killed in France 1917 aged 42. Christopher John Claud Schuster 2nd Lt. 5th (attached 1st) Rifle Brigade) aged 19. Arthur Carr Glyn Lonsdale Lieut. King’s Royal Rifles killed 1915 who from early boyhood were connected with this place.

[Rear] And in ever loving memory of William Percy Schuster for 27 years Vicar of this parish who died 6th November 1914 By Maria Theresa his wife. ‘There shall be no more death neither sorrow, nor crying neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away.’

Remember ye Christopher John Claud Schuster, 2nd Lieutenant, The Rifle Brigade, born 13th January 1899, killed in action at La Boheme, France, 10th August 1918. I sent yoy out with morning and weeping but Godwill give you unto me again with joy and gladness for ever.
